Learning Outcomes and Application This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to lead a team in oiled shoreline clean ups. It involves establishing teams, planning and implementing worksite management zones and the deployment and monitoring of teams to final reporting stage of a clean up.The unit is applicable to shoreline supervisors or coordinators, supervising and managing oiled shoreline clean up activities including preparing and disseminating plans and strategies to control an oiled shoreline incident.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Organise resources
  • Identify and organise response equipment through appropriate channels, in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Make arrangements for the transport of resources and personnel to oiled shoreline clean up site
  • Establish onsite support for personnel, in accordance with organisational procedures

  • Personnel are debriefed at conclusion of the incident, in accordance with organisational procedures

Assessment Tasks
